The Jewish Genealogical Society of Montreal is a small society, but we have made and continue to make large contributions to Jewish and Canadian genealogy. Projects have included the Jewish vital records of Montreal and Quebec, Canadian naturalization indices and cemetery databases.
Although much of the work is done by volunteers, there are costs associated with these projects. They are largely funded by the sale of records from some of our databases and through donations.
Our shopping programs are a new way to fund our projects. The programs allow the JGS-Montreal to receive referral fees from certain merchants if the purchases are made through our web site.
If you do not shop online, perhaps your children, friends or family do. PLEASE tell them about this program.
When you shop at Amazon.ca or Amazon.com, you will pay exactly the same price as you would normally, but we will also get a percentage of this price. Depending on the merchant and the product, this varies from 4% to 15%.
